Galxe Identity Protocol has completed the integration with NEBRA UPA Testnet. This integration allows Identity Protocol to fully utilize NEBRA’s proof aggregation technology to slice the significant costs associated with onchain proof verifications and pass these savings to end users. The synthesis of NEBRA’s proof aggregation approach and Identity Protocol’s self-sovereign identity infrastructure is geared to address the scalability and efficiency challenges with ZK proofs directly, allowing Galxe to power the next wave of mass adoption in privacy-preserving technologies across the web3 ecosystem.

NEBRA UPA

NEBRA is an R&D project with the vision to realize the zero-knowledge future through pioneering technologies, infrastructure, and products that facilitate mass adoption. NEBRA UPA, on the other hand, is the first Universal Proof Aggregation (UPA) protocol, fabricated to address scalability limitations through recursive SNARKs for zero-knowledge proof verifications on Ethereum (EVM) chains. At a higher level, NEBRA UPA is secured by over one million validators on the Ethereum network without the need for new trust assumptions on hardware such as Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs).

Scalability in Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) Infrastructure

NEBRA’s UPA aggregates multiple ZK proofs into a single, aggregated onchain proof. This mechanism allows the protocol to process multiple ZK proofs offchain (and from different sources) on a periodic basis while verifying only one aggregated proof onchain. In practice, this unlocks the use cases such as interoperability between different zkRollups, and composing proofs from different ZK verticals.

NEBRA’s proof aggregation approach also heralds a new chapter in web3. Its framework establishes the potential to reduce the cost of each ZK proof verification by approximately 5–10x, according to NEBRA, upgrading the cost efficiency for both protocols and end users. In addition, NEBRA further leverages the Ethereum layer1 network for its secure onchain verification and ensures that each transaction is censorship-resistant. This utility not only cements Galxe Identity Protocol as the infrastructure for applications requiring high-volume verifications but also advances accessibility and practicality.

About Galxe

Galxe is a decentralized super app and web3’s largest onchain distribution platform. Through its robust infrastructure and product suite of modular AI, digital identity, and blockchain technologies — Quest, Passport, Score, Compass, and Alva — Galxe supports the development of advanced, user-friendly web3 applications with an emphasis on secure and self-sovereign digital identity management. The recent introduction of Gravity, a layer 1 omnichain leveraging Galxe’s infrastructure, enables developers to tap into Galxe’s 30 million users and create new products that help onboard the world to web3.

About Gravity

Gravity is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain built for mass adoption, powering an ecosystem of over 25 million users. Built by Galxe, Gravity achieves over one gigagas per second throughput and sub-second finality with a pipelined AptosBFT consensus engine and Grevm (Gravity EVM), a parallel EVM runtime, while maintaining PoS security through restaking technology.
