“We didn’t just want to launch a testnet—we needed a framework that could bring our entire ecosystem together. A system where projects and applications could seamlessly collaborate while actively engaging the community.” — Merq, Movement
Over the course of several months – Movement Labs, a core contributor to Movement, a next-gen Move blockchain settling to Ethereum and creating safer execution environments by way of Move – partnered with Galxe to launch Building the Parthenon. The initiative attracted over 2 million participants and featured more than 50 dApps, making it one of the most expansive quests on Galxe.
In this case study, we’ll break down how Movement harnessed Galxe’s infrastructure to design, scale, and execute a quest that tested its network’s capabilities and strengthened its ecosystem.
Redefining Testnet Engagement
To successfully launch a testnet in today’s saturated landscape, simply deploying infrastructure isn’t enough.
Movement recognized this and designed Building the Parthenon—an ecosystem-wide quest powered by Galxe’s GraphQL API. Rather than launching a typical testnet where users passively interact with isolated dApps, Movement structured the quest to be dynamic, interconnected, and task-driven.
Galxe’s GraphQL API enables projects to integrate Galxe’s questing infrastructure directly into their own platforms, creating a tailored experience for their users. With this public API, projects can design interactive quests, implement custom branding, and ensure a seamless user journey while receiving dedicated support from the Galxe team.

Through Galxe’s API, Movement onboarded a variety of dApps into the quest, including DeFi protocols, NFT platforms, and infrastructure services. This then served as a live test, putting the Movement testnet under real user activity to gauge its speed, security, and scalability while functioning as an ecosystem-wide growth accelerator.
A closer look at Movement’s approach:
Seamless On-Platform Experience: Movement designed Building the Parthenon on a single portal, bringing together 50 Galxe Spaces into one integrated experience.
Integration with 50 dApps: Each dApp set up custom quests to engage users and test platform functionality.
Onchain Tracking: Galxe’s API verified user activity instantly for accurate quest completion.
Engaging Community at Scale

Building the Parthenon was structured around specialized Guilds, each designed to support different aspects of the Movement ecosystem. Participants could choose from six Guilds—Spartans, Pathfinders, Explorers, Creators, Scholars, and Masons—each serving a distinct purpose:
Spartans stress-test Movement’s Testnet by pushing protocols to their limits, identifying bugs, and providing feedback.
Pathfinders build community by welcoming new members, answering questions, and creating educational content.
Explorers drive engagement through social media, Twitter Spaces, and partnerships to expand Movement’s reach.
Creators produce content, including memes, graphics, videos, and NFTs, to shape Movement’s visual identity.
Scholars research and break down Movement’s technology, creating threads and articles to educate the community.
Masons develop on Movement by writing smart contracts, launching protocols, and teaching others how to build.
This structure allowed a diverse group of participants to join the quest and contribute to Movement’s growth. In return, participants who have completed the tasks unlock future benefits like token rewards, advancement in the community, and exclusive ecosystem opportunities.
Fueling Adoption Through Community
By the end of the quest, more than 50 dApps had joined, contributing over 400 tasks for participants to complete. This surge in activity clocked over 2 million participants, which expanded Movement’s community rapidly, with 2.7 million followers on Galxe Space, 858K on X, and 844K members on Discord.
Participants who completed quests qualified for MoveDrop, a token distribution event that rewarded early adopters. The more quests they completed within their guild, the greater their rewards, ensuring that the most active contributors benefited the most.
“This is only the beginning. We want to be a thriving community even after the mainnet launch, so we will continue to leverage Galxe to reward our community and be able to recognize their work throughout our journey.” — Merq, Movement
